Free Visa Check Card and ATM Card

Your Visa Check Card is the perfect complement to your checking account. This card serves as an ATM card (automated teller machine) and a check card (or debit card) all in one! You can use this card to make cash withdrawals, deposits, transfers and balance inquiries on both your savings and checking account.

At the same time, your VISA Check Card also works like a plastic check. When you use your VISA Check Card, purchases are automatically deducted from your checking account in about the same time it would take a check to clear. The VISA Check Card is accepted by any merchant displaying the VISA Debit logo.

Use it at an ATM:

  • Make withdrawals and inquiries at any ATM where you see the VISA logo.
  • Avoid surcharges by using Co-Op Network ATMs .
  • Make deposits at any ATM where you see the Plus System logo.

Use it at Businesses Where You See the VISA Debit Logo:

  • Make purchases directly from your checking account. The name of the store will print out on your monthly statement to help you keep track of your charges.
  • All VISA check card purchase transactions are surcharge-free.

Get Cash Back When Making a Purchase With Your Star Tech Visa Check Card:

  1. Swipe your Visa Check Card at the card reader (point-of-sale terminal).
  2. Enter your PIN when prompted.
  3. The POS terminal will ask if you would like cash back in addition to your purchase.
  4. Enter the amount of cash back that you would like.
  5. The screen will itemize the amount of your purchase and the amount of cash back and will prompt you for approval.
  6. The sales clerk's screen will see your requested cash back amount and give you cash.

Note: Member must be at least 18 years or older to have their own regular checking account. Otherwise, they may open one with a joint owner who will be fully responsible for any returned checks and applicable charges.

***Member Advisory***

We received notice of a new phishing scam in which members of local credit unions are receiving a text message or automated phone call indicating their credit/debit card access is restricted.  The message states that the call is from VISA's 24/7 security center and that they are needing to confirm information on the member's debit or credit card.  The "robo" call then requests the member enter their card number, expiration date and pin number. 

We have also received reports from members who received calls relating to loan coupons or other account information in which they ask our member to supply information.

Text messages indicating that Star Tech Federal Credit Union has restricted card access are fraudulent.  Star Tech Federal Credit Union will not contact members via text message or other automated means to obtain account information.

If you receive a phone call, text message, or email asking you to supply your personal account information please hang up, do not supply the information.
