Two Board Positions Open

It's that time of year when we start to look to our credit union members for volunteers to run for the Board of Directors at the Annual Membership Meeting to be held February 2010.

Each board of director position is elected to a 2-year term and next year we will have two positions open for election.

Monthly Board Meetings Held Via Teleconference

All monthly Board of Director meetings are held by phone. A 1-800 phone number is provided so out-of-town volunteers can also participate without having to travel or to incur long distance calling charges.

Benefits of Volunteering

Being a Credit Union volunteer gives you a unique opportunity to have a say in how your financial institution is run – you certainly don't get this kind of opportunity with your bank.

Think about it…

  • What kind of financial products and services do you think you and your fellow members want?
  • What kind of fees should be charged or do you think the products and services you enjoy should be completely free of charge or a combination of both?
  • How lenient or stringent should our lending policies be?
  • How much should we pay in dividends; how much should we charge for interest on loans?

These are the kinds of decisions that the Board of Directors makes every month. These are decisions that have a tangible effect on each and every member.
